At Parkway, we are committed to building lives that honor God.  In fact, we are so committed to this that we have made it our vision.  We will fulfill this through living out the five Biblical Purposes of the church.  These purposes are found throughout the New Testament.  They teach us the principles on which we must build our lives.  We express the purposes with five simple words:  head, heart, hands, feet, and life.

Heart :  We long for every person to have a heart connection with God through Jesus Christ and a vital connection with other believers through the local church.  Jesus wants every person to have a relationship with Him.   This relationship makes all believers a family therefore, we can have a heart connection with each other.  This connection is expressed through the local church and is lived out in Biblical community.   At Parkway, our goal is to see every man, woman, and child connect to God and each other at the heart level.  Because of this we call everyone to live life connected in community.  It is our desire that the connection points at Parkway are natural, intentional, and authentic.

Head:  A relationship with Jesus Christ is marked by spiritual growth.  This growth is not measured by knowledge alone but by the believer becoming like Christ in character.  It is God’s desire that we see like Jesus, think like Jesus, serve like Jesus and react to all situations like Jesus.  This kind of spiritual growth is only possible through a personal pursuit of spiritual maturity.  This personal pursuit is marked by spiritual disciplines such as Bible study, prayer, Biblical stewardship, accountability, and other time honored practices of the faith.  We are convinced that the spiritual growth is best achieved through the local church through groups, serving and worship services.  At Parkway Church, we strive to create environments where spiritual growth is natural, normal, and expected.

Hands:  The Bible teaches that “whatever your hand finds to do, do it for the glory of God.”   God’s strategy to meet the needs of people is simple.  First, he wants for us to realize that serving opportunities surround us in the community, at work, in the home and within the church.  Second, he wants for us to know that we are empowered to serve based on our spiritual gifts.  Serving doesn’t come naturally and it doesn’t happen by accident.  That’s why we teach that a life built by God is intentionally engaged in ministry.  At Parkway, we believe that every believer has been shaped by God to serve so we are creating environments and providing opportunities for each person to discover and use their God-given abilities for His glory.

Feet:   At Parkway, we say that “people come to Jesus best on the arm of a trusted friend.”  This is true because God expects those who believe in Him to be on mission for Him.  Jesus put it this way, “I will make you fishers of men.”  A life built by God is a life that seeks to share the love of God in natural, non-threatening, relational ways.  For this to happen, we must build authentic relationships with people who don’t know Christ so that we can share the love and grace of God.  At Parkway, we consistently provide environments where sharing Christ is natural and normal both locally and around the world.  We will willingly share our resources, experiences to plant churches, launch campuses, and equip others whose intent is sharing the love of God where they are.

Life:  A life built by God is a life of devotion.  It’s all about worship.  Worship is more than singing or attending a worship service.  Worship is a life transformed by God so that every act is an act of devotion to Him.  Life is then measured by an intentional commitments with our head, hearts, hands, and feet so that we honor God with our entire lives.   At Parkway, we create environments in worship and in small groups that call for spiritual commitment so every act of life is an act of worship.

Take the next step by continuing to grow in your faith and devotion to God.
