But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere-in Jerusalem, throughout Judea,
in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1-8)

These are some of the last words that Jesus gave the church. Through out his life, Jesus showed his heart in carrying out his ministry.  It starts with compassion for people. He does not begin with the most talented, most powerful, or the most popular. Jesus entrusts his most amazing work to hearts that are committed and available. Out of God-given compassion for people who are lost, broken and without hope, we can focus on what God meant for the church to be; a group of people with the purpose of sharing Christ and creating disciples locally and around the world.

Local Outreach
Parkway Church supports many local agencies in our community both with finances and volunteers. These agencies are providing services to the at-risk population, many who are without hope, without a Savior. Here are some of the agencies we as a church family support:

Crossroads Youth & Family Services, Devereux Foundation, Habitat For Humanity, Mid-Coast Family Services, Perpetual Help Home, Riding Therapy Center,  Salvation Army, and Victoria Christian Assistance Ministry.

As we are each called by the Great Commission and the Great Commandment, won’t you consider what you as an individual could do to minister to someone locally that needs to hear about the love of Christ?

Global Outreach
Parkway Church partners with Mercy International located in a small mountain village in Honduras called Yamaranguila. This ministry reaches out to the Lenca Indians, one of the indigenous people groups that reside in the area. The date for our next trip is August 13-20, 2008.

Parkway Church partners with missionaries, pastors and churches in Nigeria, Kenya, India, and Kazakhstan. Parkway also supports both foreign and domestic missionaries through giving to the SBC Cooperative Program.
